Draft Notes
Patterson is a high level athlete and a great finisher who has a very high skill level and a lot of play-making ability. The Milton, Ontario native started out at Oregon before transferring to Nevada.
- A great athlete who plays above the rim with ease and is fluid and graceful in the open court
- Has an advanced skill level and is much more than just a finisher; can shoot the rock, score from three levels and is a good play-maker, showing combo guard ability
- Has solid ball handling ability and shows some lead guard skills in a 6-7 frame
- Is at his best playing on the ball and could develop into a full-time lead guard
- Has an advanced understanding of the game, especially on the offensive end, where he shows off his point guard skills, ability to operate the PnR and ability to collapse the defense with the dribble
- Can hit the three point shot and has deep range
- Is a creative finisher around the rim
- Has all the physical tools to be a standout defender and shows flashes of defensive potential
- Doesn’t always play with the best motor – needs to learn to bring it every possession of every game and pick up the defensive intensity
- Doesn’t have ideal form on his jumper – a slow release with a low release point
- Can hit the three pointer but doesn’t yet hit at a great percentage and isn’t a knock down shooter at this point in his career
