NBA DRAFT SCOUTING REPORT
POSITION: SF | FROM: Kansas | HT: 6-8 | WT: 215 |
BORN: 11/04/00 | YEAR: rsJr. | WING: NA | REACH: NA |
Draft Notes
Wilson is a big wing with broad shoulders, a versatile offensive game and solid fundamentals. After red-shirting for a year he’s having a big impact for the Jayhawks and looking the part of an NBA wing.
He’s a capable outside shooter who rises up with a smooth and consistent shooting motion. He projects as a good to very good NBA 3pt shooter, although his FT shooting is a bit concerning (at least so far)
Wilson has good size for the SF position, allowing him to shoot over perimeter players and he’s got a lot of strength as well, allowing him to bully his way into the lane and absorb contact and finish at the rim. He’s an aggressive straight-line driver to picks his spots well and takes it hard to the rim and he’s a creative finisher in the lane.
Isn’t much of an above the rim player. He rarely dunks the ball, despite being about 6-8 and doesn’t have elite burst or bounce.
