Dybantsa would give them a big wing who can score the ball in bunches and impose his will on the game. He’s an alpha dog who can set the tone for the team for the next decade. With the mix of veterans and young talent don’t be surprised if the Wizards challenge for the playoffs this coming season. PLAYER COMP: T Mac |
| 2 Jazz | Darryn Peterson | SG – Kansas – HT: 6-5 1/2 – WT: 199 – WING: 6-9 3/4 – Fr – If the cramping issues are really behind him Peterson could end up as the best player in this class but there were some orange flags that came up this past season, which could cause him to fall out of the no.1 pick. | 3 Grizzlies | Cam Boozer | PF – Duke – HT: 6-9 1/4 – WT: 253 – WING: 7-1 1/2 – Fr – Cam could go anywhere in the top 3, from no.1 overall to the Wizards to landing here in Memphis at no.3. | 4 Bulls | Caleb Wilson | PF – UNC – HT: 6-10 1/4 – WT: 211 – WING: 7-0 1/4 – Fr – Wilson is a special talent with as much upside as anyone in this draft class. The Bulls have a handful of forwards already on the roster but you just can’t pass on a special talent like Wilson, if he falls to no.4. PLAYER COMP: Kevin Garnett, Shareef Abdur-Rahim |
| 5 Clippers (Pacers) | Keaton Wagler | SG – Illinois – HT: 6-6 – WT: 188 – WING: 6-6 1/4 – Fr – Wagler would give the Clippers a versatile and highly talented big guard who has All Star upside. He’s been one of the most fascinating prospects to watch this past season, rising from obscurity into the top 10. | 6 Nets | Mikel Brown Jr. | PG – Louisville – HT: 6-4 1/2 – WT: 190 – WING: 6-7 1/2 – Fr – Brown Jr. is a nuclear scorer who can light it up as well as anyone in this draft. He seems to be over the back issues that hindered him this season and his draft stock is pointing up. | 7 Kings | Darius Acuff Jr. | PG – Arkansas – HT: 6-3 – WT: 186 – WING: 6-7 – Fr – Acuff would give the Kings a new face of the franchise that they so desperately need. Yes, his defense is terrible but he’s one of the most talented on-ball guards we’ve see come into the league in recent years and could step in on day one and run the show. | 8 Hawks (Pelicans) | Kingston Flemings | PG – Houston – HT: 6-3 1/2 – WT: 183 – WING: 6-3 1/2 – Fr – Kingston Flemings is the type of dynamic athlete at the lead guard position that can change the course of a franchise. He didn’t measure as well as hoped for at the combine, so that could knock him down a spot or two…but he shouldn’t fall too far! I think this would be a steal. | 9 Mavs | Nate Ament | SF – Tennessee – HT: 6-10 1/2 – WT: 211 – WING: 6-11 1/2 – Fr – There is a lot of buzz around Ament in the top 10, with various teams reportedly looking to trade up to get him. His draft range seems to start as high as no.6 and go to about no.11. PLAYER COMP: Risacher, Austin Croshere, Keith Van Horn |
| 10 Bucks | Brayden Burries | SG – Arizona – HT: 6-4 3/4 – WT: 215 – WING: 6-6 – Fr – Burries is the type of all-around guard who can fit with any line-up. He brings a great balance of scoring punch, two-way ability and the ability to play on or off the ball. He’s right up there with the first tier of guards in this class. After the Giannis trade the Bucks are looking to stockpile young talent and starting with a high level and versatile guard like Burries would be a great start. PLAYER COMP: bigger Jared McCain |
| 11 Warriors | Aday Mara | C – Michigan (Spain) – HT: 7-3 – WT: 260 – WING: 7-6 – Jr – Mara was a steady riser all season and has been one of the stars of this year’s draft season. He would be a nice addition upfront with his ability to anchor a defense and make plays on the offensive end. He’ll be one of the most fascinating players to watch as he adjusts to the NBA game, with his massive size and unique skill-set. PLAYER COMP: Zydrunas Ilgauskas |
| 12 Thunder (Clippers) | Morez Johnson | C – Michigan – HT: 6-10 – WT: 251 – WING: 7-3 1/2 – So – A burly rebounding big man with good footwork in the paint. Gives good effort and his very productive on the boards and highly efficient with his scoring. Is starting to stretch the floor and show some upside on the offensive end. Probably won’t be a star in the NBA but seems to have a very clear path to success. PLAYER COMP: beef stew |
| 13 Bucks (Heat) | Hannes Steinbach | PF – Washington (Germany) – HT: 6-11 1/4 – WT: 248 – WING: 7-2 1/4 – Fr – I’m a massive Steinbach fan and think he’ll be really productive in the NBA. He’s got a great combination of toughness, strength and mobility and gives great effort on both ends. PLAYER COMP: David Lee, Isaiah Hartenstein+ |
| 14 Hornets | Cameron Carr | SG – Baylor – HT: 6-5 1/2 – WT: 184 – WING: 7-0 3/4 – So – A long, lanky guard with a picture-perfect jumper and great above the rim ability. Needs to add strength and develop his frame but finally had his breakout season this year and is a first round lock. One of the best pure shooters in the draft class. | 15 Bulls (Blazers) | Bennett Stirtz | PG – Iowa – HT: 6-3 1/2 – WT: 186 – WING: 6-6 – Sr – A crafty offensive talent who can play on or off the ball. Can really shoot the ball from deep and has an uncanny ability to get to the mid range. Struggles to the get to the rim and isn’t a plus athlete, which could catch up to him at the NBA level. | 17 Thunder (76ers) | Yaxel Lendeborg | PF – Michigan – HT: 6-9 3/4 – WT: 241 – WING: 7-3 1/4 – Sr – Yaxel’s draft range starts as high as pick no.9 but there’s a chance he falls out of the lottery, with some of the younger players moving ahead of him. | 18 Hornets (Suns) | Christian Anderson | PG – Texas Tech – HT: 6-1 3/4 – WT: 180 – WING: 6-6 1/4 – So – An unselfish player who finds open teammates, gets his within the flow of the offense and is a big time shot-maker. | 19 Raptors | Chris Cenac Jr. | C – Houston – HT: 6-11 1/4 – WT: 240 – WING: 7-5 – Fr – A long and agile post player with a nice skill level and really good open court athleticism. Can face-up and take his man off the bounce or drain jumpers. Has good timing as a shot-blocker and can defend in space as well. Shows developing ball-handling and offensive play-making. | 20 Spurs (Hawks) | Karim Lopez | SF – NZ Breakers, NBL (Mexico) – HT: 6-9 1/4 – WT: 222 – WING: 6-11 1/2 – Int.07 – One of the more underrated and unheralded players in the draft, Lopez has a chance to be really good as a do-it-all forward who contributes across the board. | 21 Pistons (Wolves | Ebuka Okorie | PG – Stanford – HT: 6-2 1/4 – WT: 186 – WING: 6-7 3/4 – Fr – After a monster freshman season Okorie is in the running to be a mid to late first round pick. | 22 76ers (Rockets) | Allen Graves | PF – Santa Clara – 6-8 3/4 – WT: 226 – WING: 7-0 – Fr – Graves had a breakout year and is one of the more underrated players in the country. He’s a low usage player who does everything well and doesn’t need the ball in his hands to be effective. |
| 23 Hawks (Cavs) | Dailyn Swain | SF – Texas – HT: 6-7 1/2 – WT: 211 – WING: 6-10 – Jr – A high level athlete with NBA level tools. Competes hard on both ends and has a lot of versatility. Struggles to shoot the ball from deep and has work to do with his offensive skill-set. PLAYER COMP: Herb Jones, Jeremy Grant |
| 24 Knicks | Koa Peat | SF – Arizona – HT: 6-8 – WT: 245 – WING: 6-11 1/4 – Fr – Peat is a rock solid player who has a NBA frame and does a lot of things well. He’s probably more of a role player than a first option/star player but I think he can be a very high-end role player. | 28 Nets (Pistons) | Isaiah Evans | SF – Duke – 6-6 1/2 – WT: 186 – WING: 6-8 3/4 – So – Evans has great shooting touch and a shot that is nearly impossible to block thanks to his length and size. He’s skinny and needs to continue to bulk up and so he could take some time before being NBA ready. PLAYER COMP: Jett Howard |
| 29 Cavs (Spurs) | Jayden Quaintance | C – Kentucky – HT: 6-10 – WT: 253 – WING: 7-5 1/4 – So – JQ is an elite defensive talent with great strength, length, versatility and awesome defensive instincts. He’s a very pedestrian offensive player, limited to scoring around the rim, which limits his upside. He has some lingering discomforts from an ACL injury and doesn’t yet seem to be at 100% health.
