Draft Notes

Samuels has chosen to take his extra year of eligibility and return to Villanova.

He’s a rock solid small forward who is flying way under the radar and has a chance to rise up draft boards ahead of the 2022 NBA Draft. He’s not the flashiest player but he does everything well, brings it on both ends of the court and has a much improved 3pt shot.

He’s got an NBA frame with excellent strength and enough athleticism. He’s not a big time above the rim player but has enough bounce and burst for the NBA game.

In some ways he reminds of Jimmy Butler with his powerful build, solid mid range game and his strength going to the basket. He uses his frame well to bully past defenders and he drives the ball with a purpose to get to the rim.

Samuels doesn’t show up on many mocks but he’s got a real chance to work is way onto draft boards and make an NBA roster.
