NBA DRAFT SCOUTING REPORT
POSITION: SF | FROM: Michigan (Germany) | HT: 6-9 | WT: 220 |
BORN: 8/27/01 | YEAR: So. | WING: NA | REACH: NA |
Draft Notes
The younger brother of Moritz Wagner, Franz is a talented big wing with a nice feel for the game, good passing and shot making ability plus NBA size. He’s not the most explosive athlete but he moves well for a 6-9 player.
Franz has really nice scoring ability and is highly efficient with his shots. His 3pt shooting ability will be his meal ticket in the NBA but he’s also a crafty scorer in the lane and from mid range. He’s over 80% from the FT line and has an overall nice shooting touch.
Franz is a heady player who really understands spacing, pace, how to find cutting teammates and where to be on the court.
He doesn’t project as an elite defender at the NBA level but he shows the ability to stay with his man and is putting up a decent amount of steals and blocks. His understanding of the game and good anticipation really help him out on the defensive end.
