Overview
A high level SF prospect who has great length, awesome leaping ability and a lot of talent. Can really score the ball and play above the rim. Young for his class, with nice upside. Just starting to figure out how good he can be. Can play the 4 position in small-ball line-ups.

Strengths
Has the type of athletic ability that scouts love. At 6-9 he’s got great quickness and suddenness, good leaping ability and a ton of length. He plays like a shooting guard in a 6-9 frame, with really good coordination and change of direction. Has a fluid stride and covers a lot of ground in a hurry. Can create his own shot in the mid range.

Can score from all three levels. Uses jab steps and ball fakes well and does a good job of getting the defender off balance. Can pull up and drain threes and has a shot that should translate well to the pros.

Gets a lot of buckets in the lane, on put-backs and in transition. At the college level he physically outmatches defenders with his size and ability. At the next level he’ll need to refine his skill set but he certainly has all the physical tools you look for in a wing.

His length and elevation make his jumper hard to block and he’s got a quick, smooth release.

Is an excellent free throw shooter and projects as someone who could hit close to 90% at some point in his career.

His ability to change ends and make plays in transition is stunning. Knox is a fluid athlete, super quick and exceptionally long. He’s got broad shoulders and has already added a lot of muscle to his frame.

He’s got high upside as a defender. He can guard a lot of area with his length and he can cover 4 positions and switch onto the ball handler when needed.

Weaknesses
Nothing major. Just needs to continue to improve his ball handling and outside shot and continue to gain an understanding of the game.

Could use some more muscle, which will come as he continues to fill out his frame.

Needs to make quicker decisions with the ball and improve his basketball IQ. He plays with a good motor but doesn’t show a ton of aggression, leadership or intensity (but he’s very young and his leadership skills and intensity should develop in time).

Comparisons
Reminds of a more skilled version of Ron Mercer, with some Paul George in his game.
Kevin Knox’ floor is Jerami Grants’ ceiling.
