The deadline for declaring for the 2025 NBA draft has just passed and now it’s time to dial-in the big board. The top half of this big board is similar to version 5.0 but the second half is drastically different. This is mainly due to players deciding to return to school and so being removed from the big board, which opened up space for about a dozen new names.
The result of this is a less talented and more senior-laden draft class. There’s no question that the NIL rules have drastically reshaped the college basketball landscape and have provided a major incentive for players to stay in school.
There are a handful of players on this top 70 bid board that are testing the draft waters and I expect a few of them to end up returning to school. The NBA Draft Combine during the week of May 11-18 will help clarify things for these guys and will help them make their decisions. The combine will also provide some crucial measurements which could affect some players draft stock.
The top of this draft is made up of mostly American prospects with a handful of talented International prospects ranked in the second half of the lottery through the first round. I have Noa Essengue ranked as my top international prospect but it’s a tight grouping there with Nolan Traore, Hugo Gonzalez and Joan Beringer. Noah Penda and Ben Saraf could also be a first rounders from overseas.
We’re less than two months away from the 2025 NBA Draft and draft season is in full swing! Stay tuned for lots of updates to the mock, this big board and lots of coverage of the draft!
