NBA DRAFT SCOUTING REPORT
Draft Notes
A talented scorer with range, Wagner is a nice fit in today’s NBA that values spacing and shot creation. He’s a well coordinated athlete who gets up and down the floor well, plays with a lot of energy and hustle, but lacks ideal length and isn’t much of a rim protector.
Strengths
- A very efficient scorer and talented shooter who hits a high percentage
- Has an excellent three point shot with a high, quick release, hitting nearly 40% from downtown
- Has great size for a perimeter oriented big man
- Can face-up and score from mid range or take his man off the dribble
- Takes it to the rim hard and has a quick first step
- Plays with heart and hustle and a will to win
- Has quick hands on defense and shows some ability to guard outside of the lane
Weaknesses
- Lacks length and is almost non-existent as a shot blocker/rim protector
- Will likely struggle to guard at the next level and could be a liability on D
- A surprising poor FT shooter, considering his overall shot-making ability
Comparisons
- Ersan Ilyasova
