Obviously the 2028 draft is far enough away that it doesn’t make sense to do an actual mock draft. So instead, think of this as a running list of the top prospect for the 2028 NBA Draft.
This list is made up of the high school class of 2027 recruits and the top international prospects in the 2009 generation. At this point I’m not going to try to predict which class of 2025 and 2026 etc. recruits will stay in school and end up in the 2028 draft.
I’ll be adding to and updating this list over the coming months and years.
1) Baba Oladotun – 6-8 – SF – DeMatha, MD – C’2027 – Oladotun is a big guard/wing with a lanky frame, great size and length and he looks like a natural on the court. He makes the game look easy and effortless. He’s got a smooth shooting stroke and a high level of polish in his game for such a young player.
2) Paul Osaruyi – PF – 6-10 – Canada – C’2027 – Osaruyi is a rock solid and very strong post player who moves well on the court and has all of the tools to be a starting power forward at the NBA level. He’s a hard worker who controls the boards, defends the paint and runs the court with good effort. He’s got a developing skill set and shows some promise with the ball in his hands. He was born in 2008 so could theoretically be eligible for the 2027, if he reclassifies up.
3) Lincoln Crosby – 6-9 – SF – Overtime Elite – C’2027 – Crosby is a really intriguing longterm prospect thanks to his size, length and developing skillset. He’s got a great combo forward frame, although will have to get stronger. He has some wing skills and should continue to develop his perimeter game.
4) Nathan Soliman – 6-9 – PF –France – Int.09 – Soliman is a skilled big forward with a really nice outside shot and a high skill level. He’s got good size for his age and good coordination. He’s not an overly explosive athlete and plays more of a finesse game, with scoring touch and good passing vision. He’ll have to get stronger and develop his athleticism over the coming years but at this point he looks like one of the top young prospects in Europe.
5) Gabe Nesmith – SF – 6-5 – Montverde, FL – C’2027 – A smooth wing who instantly passes the eye test with how he moves on the court. Has very good quickness, handles and ability to get his own shot. Is a great driver and finisher, is skilled in the mid range and can hit the 3pt shot. It’s very early but it’s easy to see him as a future lottery pick.
