A running list of the top dynasty rookies from the 2024 NBA Draft

|---|---|---|
Zach Edey – C – Grizzlies | The big Grizzly has been productive early and has come in as one of the more NBA ready rookies. He’s a monster on the boards, scores the ball at a nice clip and contributes across the stat sheet. If you were lucky enough to draft him outside of the top 10 you got a steal.
Stephen Castle – PG/SG – Spurs | Castle has shown off his all around talents, contributing on both ends and showing a really nice feel on the offensive side. The shooting stats haven’t been good but his overall offensive game has looked nice. It seems like only a matter of time before he shoots the ball better.
Donovan Clingan – C – Trailblazers | Clingan has all the tools and potential to be an elite fantasy player. He’s a rebounding and shot-blocking menace, hits a high percentage from the field and from the line and is developing as a 3pt shooter. If any manager is silly enough to sell low, don’t hesitate to scoop him up. He’s going to be a fantasy monster.
Zaccharie Risacher – SF – Hawks | The no.1 overall pick in June has so far lived up to the hype and looks like a star in the making. He’s an impressively smooth athlete for a 6-9 player, has a feathery jumper and has a great feel for the game. He’s a stud.
Jared McCain – PG/SG – 76ers | The 76ers nailed another mid first round guard selection. McCain has proven to be very NBA ready and his 3pt shot is special. He’s got a great feel for the game, plays with great change of pace, which makes up for his underwhelming length and athleticism. There’s a chance he ends up as a top 5 fantasy player from this draft class. He looks really good.
Alexandre Sarr – PF/C – Wizards | The flashes are there but the consistency is not. As expected. Sarr is a standout defender with elite potential on that end of the court. He’s a long ways away from finding his offensive rhythm but he’s super young and the offensive game will come around in time. It’s going to take some patience but it should be worth the wait.
Carlton Carrington – PG – Wizards | Carrington looks like a great pick for the Wizards. He’s come in and held his own in big minutes, looking really smooth and comfortable on a NBA court and putting up nice numbers. He can really shoot the rock, has nice size for the PG position, sees the floor well and is an overall exciting and productive player.
Dalton Knecht – SF – Lakers | He’s a NBA ready offensive player who can get hot from outside. His lack of defensive ability could limit his upside but his offensive firepower will get him on the court. He’s going to be streaky but will have some monster scoring games.
Reed Sheppard – PG/SG – Rockets | It’s been a slow start for Reed but all the upside is still there. He might not be an instant hit but this could be a chance to buy low. He’ll be one of the elite 3pt shooters in the league for a long time. It will only take a few good games for this ranking to look too pessimistic.
Yves Missi – C – Pelicans – | I was sky high on Missi coming into the draft and so it’s no surprise to me to see him playing so well. He’s a hyper-active defender and rebounder and is just scratching the surface of his offensive potential.
Rob Dillingham – PG – Timberwolves | Rob hasn’t gotten minutes yet for a good, veteran Timberwolves team so it’s hard to judge him one way or the other. If a manger gets bored of holding him, go get him!
Kyshawn George – SG – Wizards | George has looked very comfortable on a NBA court and looks like a really solid building block for the Wizards (part of a very strong draft class for the team).
Matas Buzelis – SF – Bulls | Matas has shown some flashes when the minutes have been there. As he gets stronger and refines his outside shot I think he’ll be a really solid fantasy option. But it’s going to take some time and he’s probably not a star.
Ron Holland – SF – Pistons | It remains to be seen if Holland becomes more than just a high energy role player. He was a top 5 pick in the 2024 draft but I very much doubt he’ll be a top 5 fantasy player from this draft class.
Kel’el Ware – C – Heat | In limited minutes Ware has done some nice things. Once the minutes are there his production should be really solid and this ranking could prove to be way too low.
Tristan Da Silva – PF – Magic | TDS coming in and contributing early shouldn’t surprise anyone. The injury to Paolo has opened up more playing time for him and he’s taking full advantage of the opportunity. He might not be a star but he looks like a player who will contribute for a long time.
Kyle Filipowski – PF/C – Jazz | Flip is off to a solid start and looks like a player who will fill a role for the Jazz early in his career.
Devin Carter – SG – Kings | Carter will miss some more time recovering from a shoulder injury but this could a chance to buy low on the athletic two-way guard. He’s progressing well and could be back on the court by the end of 2024.
Tidjane Salaun – PF Hornets | It’s not been a great start for Salaun but I’m still a 100% believer. Of all the players in this draft I think this is the most appealing buy-low opportunity.
Nikola Topic – PG – Thunder | When all’s said and done this could be too low for Topic. He’s a draft and stash who could pay dividends down the road.
Ryan Dunn – SF – Suns | His elite defense has translated and his 3pt shoot has been a revaluation. The minutes will be up and down his rookie year but over the long term Dunn looks like a nice role player.
Ajay Mitchell – SG – Thunder | Mitchell is off to a really impressive start, earning minutes and contributing early for one of the best teams in the NBA. He’s a rock solid player who makes the right reads, hits open shots and definitely looks like he belongs on a NBA court.
Jaylen Wells – SF – Grizzlies | One of the surprises of the draft class, Wells has been one of the top rookies so far this year and looks like a steal of a draft pick for the Grizzlies.
Jaylon Tyson – SF – Cavs | Tyson is off to a good start to his career in Cleveland, albeit in limited minutes. He’s a natural scorer who can get it done from 3 levels.
Cody Williams – SF – Jazz | I’m struggling to find the right place to rank Cody. I’ve been a big fan of his and am still a believer but it’s clear that he’s a long ways away from being a steady contributor on a NBA court. He could be a buy-low candidate for a manager willing to be very patient.
Tyler Kolek – PG – Knicks | Kolek has such elite feel for the game and a great shooting touch. It remains to be seen if he’s more than a backup PG in the league but he looks like a player who will have a very long and successful NBA career.
DaRon Holmes II – PF/C – Nuggets | An Achilles injury will keep him out for this year but he’s worth a stash.
Terrence Shannon Jr. – SF – Timberwolves | He’s a scoring wing who will put up numbers if/when the minutes are there. But that might not happen during his rookie year.
Jonathan Mogbo – PF – Raptors | Mogbo has shown some really nice flashes and looks like he belongs on a NBA court. He’s not a shooter and so his fantasy ceiling is somewhat limited but he does a bit of everything else. He’s an impressive athlete and an exciting play-maker.
Johnny Furphy – SG – Pacers | Another long-term investment who probably won’t get minutes his rookie year.
