NBA DRAFT SCOUTING REPORT
Draft Notes
Yves Pons is a burly wrecking-ball of an athlete who has springs in his legs. He would have been a fringe second round pick in 2020 but made a good decision to return to Tennessee who try to solidify his draft status.
He’s undersized in terms of height but he’s got a wide frame, big shoulders and is a powerful athlete. He’s a natural 4 who could play some small-ball 5. He’s got the strength to bang with bigger players and excels at protecting the rim, despite being undersized.
Yves is showing some ability to stretch the floor but outside shooting isn’t a strength at this point. If he can hit open 3pt shots NBA teams will give him a long look.
