Wenyen Gabriel NBA Draft Scouting Report

6-9 – Combo Forward – Kentucky

A run/jump athlete with intriguing upside.

Gabrel is an elite level athlete who is long, fast and fluid and can really play above the rim.

Has small forward skills in a long, 6-9 frame, with a quick first step and great leaping ability. Excels in transition and changes ends in a flash.

Uses his length well on defense and is a really pesky defender and high level shot blocker.

Plays with a good motor and really gets out and runs the floor well.

Has a ton of upside and a high ceiling.

Skinny and weak and needs to add strength.

Still learning the game and improving his fundamentals. Needs to tighten up his handles and improve all of his ball skills.

Inconsistent shooter at this point in his development.

Doesn’t have much of a back to the basket game.

Longer Luol Deng. Darius Miles.

Projection: possible first round pick in the 2017 or 2018 NBA Draft
