Underrated 2013 NBA Draft Prospects

We all know the big name players, the likely lottery picks and since they get plenty of attention let’s take a look at some players that are off the radar.

Jared Berggren – Power Forward – Wisconsin

Who?  Exactly.  Berggren doesn’t get much (or any) attention from the national media or the draftniks but he has a ton of talent and an NBA body.  At 6,10 235 pounds he has the size to mix it up in the paint but he stands out with his three point shooting ability and quickness on the dribble drive.  He has good explosiveness and can finish well above the rim. Solid defender and rebounder who knows how to play team defense and give help D.

The badgers play a low scoring, slow-it-down type of game which limits his numbers but Berggren is a legit NBA prospect and I think we’ll all be hearing more about him in the near future. A possible late first or second rounder in the 2013 NBA Draft.

Nick Johnson – Point Guard – Arizona

Fellow freshman Josiah Turner gets more hype and every one is talking about the great recruiting class coming in next year but Nick Johnson has been quietly having himself a season.  Johnson is a powerful and athletic guard who is still learning the point guard position but has a lot of tools to work with.  Shoots the ball well from three point range and can explode into the lane for highlight film dunks.  He moves the ball well on offense but needs to get better at getting into the lane and setting teammates up for open shots. He might be best served to stay a few years at Arizona but with continued improvement he could be a future first rounder.
