Tyron Stokes is a big-bodied wing/combo forward with an impressive blend of power, athleticism and skill. He has a strong, NBA-ready frame but is remarkably quick and nimble for his size, giving him the ability to overpower smaller defenders while also taking bigger forwards off the dribble.

Offensively, Stokes is at his best attacking downhill. Once he gets a head of steam he’s extremely difficult to contain, using his strength, long strides and explosiveness to get into the paint. He absorbs contact well and is a very good finisher around the basket. He also has easy above-the-rim ability thanks to his combination of size, length and bounce and can be a force in transition.

The perimeter game remains a work in progress. Stokes isn’t yet a consistent 3-point shooter, but there’s plenty to like about the long-term outlook. He gets good rotation on the ball and has enough natural touch to project as a league-average or better shooter in time. Becoming a consistent threat from deep would really open up his driving game.

Defensively, Stokes has the tools to be extremely versatile. He moves his feet surprisingly well, has quick hands and can legitimately defend in space. His big frame and strength allow him to wall off driving lanes and make it difficult for guards to turn the corner, while also giving him the ability to match up with bigger forwards.

There are a few small yellow flags with Stokes, particularly with his body language and consistency of engagement. He can occasionally appear frustrated or disengaged, and that will be something to monitor as he moves into higher levels of competition.

NBA Draft Room Take: Stokes has a rare physical profile with legitimate two-way versatility. If the jumper develops and he consistently plays with a high motor and positive approach, he has the talent to become an impact NBA forward and one of the top prospects in the 2027 draft class.
