Draft Notes

Fru is a powerful, mobile big man with an intriguing combination of size, athleticism and developing skill. At around 6-11 with a strong frame and good length, he already looks the part of an NBA interior player.

Offensively, Fru does his best work around the basket. He’s a strong finisher who can play above the rim, run the floor and punish defenses as a roll man. He has good hands and flashes some touch away from the basket, although his jumper and overall offensive creation remain works in progress. He’s more of a play-finisher than a player you run the offense through at this stage.

Defensively, Fru’s physical tools really stand out. He covers ground well for his size, provides legitimate rim protection and has the mobility to defend in space. He’s also a strong rebounder who can control his area of the paint.

The big question is how far his offensive skill level develops. If the shooting and feel continue to improve, Fru has a chance to become more than a traditional energy big.

Fru has the physical profile NBA teams look for in a modern center: size, strength, mobility, rim protection and vertical pop. His floor looks relatively solid, while continued development as a shooter and offensive decision-maker give him some more upside.
