Draft Notes
Sam Merrill is one of the most talented 3pt shooters in the 2020 draft class and this one elite skill could land him a spot in the League.
Merrill is a big shot maker who wants the ball in his hands when the game is on the line. He doesn’t have blow by speed but he’s got some creativity with the ball and can get his own shot.
Merrill has a nice mid range game, can hit on floaters and has some ability to score at the rim – although there will be a big adjustment stepping up from the Mountain West Conference to the NBA.
He’s an average (or slightly below) athlete by NBA standards but he’s a heady defender who plays with great positioning, anticipation and toughness, which should allow him to hold his own.
