NBA DRAFT SCOUTING REPORT
Draft Notes
Precious Achiuwa is a big wing/combo forward with elite level athletic ability. He’s got a strong frame with great length and explosive leaping ability. He has great coordination and body control. He can play the 4 position but his best NBA position will be as a big wing and he’s already showing that skill set.
Strengths
- Positional size and athleticism for his size
- Strength and coordination
- Plays with intensity and hits the boards hard – gets a lot of second chance points off offensive rebounds
- Above the rim ability – a great dunker who can finish with power
- Has decent mechanics on his jumper and a smooth release out to college 3 and beyond (although outside shooting is not yet a strength)
- Has good handles and ability to drive the ball to the rim – handles well in traffic
- A high level shot blocker for his position
- Defensive versatility – can guard 2-4
Weaknesses
- Needs to work on his off hand dribble and finishing
- Old for his class (born in 1999)
- Forces shots, needs better shot selection
- Isn’t a great 3pt shooter at this point and struggles from the FT line (below 60%)
Comparisons
- he moves like Tobias Harris, maybe even a little quicker than Tobias
- but his skill set is more like early years’ Pascal Siakam
Draft Projection
