Draft Notes

Walker is built like a bull and is a powerful force on the wing. A deft ball handler who plays a unique game, thanks to his bulk and play-making ability.

A talented scorer with advanced handles and a powerful dribble-drive game, Walker excels at getting into the lane and finishing at the rim. He’s got the strength to absorb contact and is very creative with his shot, allowing him to score over length.

He can play bully-ball against most perimeter defenders and is a load to handle when he gets a full head of steam. He’s got good open court speed and does a good job of pushing the pace.

He sees the court well and is a natural play-maker who does a good job of collapsing the defense and setting his teammates up for open shots. Has a versatile offensive game and can operate at the point or play off the ball.

Can be a lock down defender when he puts his mind to it and has all the physical abilities to excel on the defensive end.

Walker isn’t a prototypical run/jump athlete and has more of a compact frame, with average length (+2 wingspan).

Can be too ball dominant and needs to do a better job of moving the ball and operating within the flow of the offense.

Needs to get more consistent with his outside shot.

Comparisons

  • Reminds of Stanley Johnson with his broad shoulders, ball handling and ability to make plays off the bounce.
