NBA DRAFT SCOUTING REPORT

BORN: 12/2/98 | YEAR: Jr. | WING: NA | REACH: NA |
Draft Notes
Petty is a solid wing prospect who plays with great energy and impacts both sides of the ball.
At a legit 6-6 with long arms Petty has nice size for the SG position. His all around game and versatility allow him to impact the game, even without scoring the ball.
A solid defender, both in one on one situation and team defense. Petty has the length and size to guard multiple positions and can switch off on point guards or cover bigs.
A big time scorer and playmaker on offense who also does a good job of getting his points within the flow of the game, while making smart basketball plays. Gets nice elevation on his shot and has a smooth, compact shooting form. Can hit shots off the dribble, even when off balance or fading away.
Can operate with his back to the basket, scoring on turn-around jumpers or making moves to the rim.
Impacts all aspects of the game and is a well rounded player.
Seems to be a step slow compared to elite prospects and doesn’t have top end speed or burst.
A good but not great outside shooter who will have to perfect the corner 3 to reach his NBA potential.
