Draft Notes

After a tough first half of the season Traore is starting to re-find his footing and is regaining some draft momentum.

He’s a lightening quick point guard with decent size for the position and great burst into the lane. Has really good body control and stop/start ability and knows how to get defenders off balance and create space for his mid range game. Drives from good angles and with great change of speed.

A blur in the open court who plays with his head up and is really good at pushing the ball ahead and finding teammates.

Has nice shooting form and shows promise as an outside shooter. Can hit step backs and side step jumpers with deep range.

Is a great finisher over length, although is right hand dominant at this stage. Is more of score-first guard but also does a great job of collapsing the defense and keeping composure under pressure and finding open teammates.

Has a nice floater game and really good touch. Uses up and under’s well.

Brings a ton of energy on defense putting pressure on the ball and hounding the ball handler. Reads passing lanes well, using his quickness and good instincts. Has enough size to guard either guard position.

Comparisons

  • Tony Parker lite
  • kind of a weird comp but in some ways he reminds me of Tyrese Maxey
