Draft Notes
Nickeil (cousin of Shai) Alexander-Walker is a well-built PG with broad shoulders and great length who impacts both sides of the ball. On defense his ability to guard on the ball gives him a lot of added value in a League that has gone more towards perimeter scoring and high volume 3pt shooting.
On offense Nickeil excels at getting into the lane using his quick first step, broad shoulders and ball-handling ability. His length allows him to score in traffic and he makes it look effortless getting above the rim. His shooting touch keeps the defense honest, as he’s shooting better than 40% from 3 at the time of this writing. His FT shooting is good but not great (high 70s) with some room for improvement.
Physically and athletically Nickeil has all the tools NBA teams look for, making him a projected lottery pick.
