NBA Draft Prospect – Jimmer Fredette

6,2 – Point Guard/Shooting Guard – BYU

Big name player who will certainly create a buzz when he steps on the court for his first NBA game. The question is:  Is he more Steve Nash or JJ Reddick?

It will be interesting to see if he can transition to the point guard position full time or will he have to play the role of undersized scoring guard?

Pros

Elite three point shooter with range out to the parking lot.  Fearless shooter who is used to having the ball in his hands in the clutch. Surprisingly quick and crafty with the ball and can get into the lane and to the rim.  Draws fouls well and rarely misses a free throw. Will sell tickets.

Cons

There are a lot of questions about how his game will translate to the NBA. He is not a great athlete and will be overmatched athletically on most nights. May be a defensive liability but is a very heady player and should be able to compensate somewhat for his lack of agility.  Not a natural passer and could have a tough transition to the point guard spot.
