It’s obviously very, very early but the flashes of talent, coordination and athletic ability that Dabone shows are breathtaking.

The 6-10 forward, who was born in Burkina Faso (in West Africa) and is coming up with FC Barcelona, has as much talent as I’ve ever seen from a player his age. It must be said there is some speculation about his actual age (he was listed as a 16 year old in a 2023 tournament) but if he was indeed born in 2011 he’s the most advanced prospect I’ve ever seen for his age.

He’s an awesome athlete with elite coordination, vertical pop and speed. He’s also got a solid feel for the game and very good touch, and is much more than just an athlete.

He’s still very thin and will have to add a lot of strength over the coming years. He does have tremendous apparent length. Just based off the eye test he’s got at least a 7-4 wingspan, probably longer, although no official measurements are available.

On defense he’s a great shot blocker who has really good timing on his jump and does a good job of keeping his body clear of the offensive player so he can elevate for the block.

Has the makings of an outside shot with good shooting form but can be wild with his accuracy and a lot of his shooting is still theoretical.

It’s going to be incredibly fun and interesting to watch over the next handful of years to see his development.
