NBA Draft Prospect Meyers Leonard
7,0 – Center – Illinois
A Sophomore with legit NBA center size and good strength and athleticism.
Pros
Has great height, length and strength, making him a force in the middle. Showed great improvement in his second college season and looks like a future lottery pick. Has good mobility and coordination and can get up and down the court well. Uses his size well and really bangs in the paint and avoids floating out to the perimeter. Good rebounder who has the potential to be a double digit rebounder in the NBA. Has good lateral quickness and is a quick leaper. Good shot blocker with excellent timing.
Scores in the lane on jump hooks and turn arounds. Seems to have a really good feel for the game and passes well out of the post and makes good decisions with the ball. Shoots a high percentage from the field and is also a very good free throw shooter. Plays with good passion and intensity.
Cons
There’s not a lot to say here. Still learning the game and refining his offensive skills. Not yet a consistent shooter from mid range but has good form and has shown good improvement. Could stand to improve his conditioning and continue to add strength.
Projection: lottery pick in the 2013 NBA Draft
