NBA DRAFT SCOUTING REPORT
POSITION: SG | FROM: Arkansas | HT: 6-5 | WT: 200 |
BORN: 7/21/98 | YEAR: Jr. | WING: NA | REACH: NA |
Draft Notes
Mason Jones is one of the most electrifying 3pt shooters in the 2020 NBA Draft. The junior from Arkansas can get streaky-hot from outside and really make it rain. He also excels at drawing fouls and hits a high percentage from the FT line (over 82% as a junior).
Jones doesn’t have top end athleticism but his best skill happens to be the most valued skill in today’s game, 3pt shooting. He’s got a strong, thick frame and has done a good job of dropping his weight and improving his athleticism over the past two plus years.
He started playing basketball late in his high school career and has been on a great trajectory every since.
He’s a likely second round pick who’s outside shot should keep him around the league for a long time.
