NBA DRAFT SCOUTING REPORT
Draft Notes
Shamet is long and lean combo guard who is a lethal three point shooter who plays an overall efficient game. He operates within the flow of the offense, knows how to get teammates involved and is a heady player. He’s a bit thin and light and doesn’t blow you away with athleticism but his length and skill set will make him a commodity at the next level. He projects as a role player off the bench, possibly becoming a starter in his prime.
Strengths
- Feel for the game – plays the right way, makes the right pass, doesn’t over dribble
- Is an excellent three point shooter, hitting about 44% over his past two seasons
- Very efficient with good shot selection – shoots a high percentage 49/44/82
- A great catch and shoot player who can also get his own shot
- Has combo guard skills and enough length to guard multiple positions, especially as he adds strength
Weaknesses
- Needs to get stronger
- Isn’t the most explosive athlete
- Doesn’t have the best foot-speed and could get crossed over at the next level
Comparisons
- Doug Christie
