Kobi Simmons NBA Draft Scouting Report

6-5 – Point Guard – Arizona

A tall point guard who can get to the basket with either hand. Quick in the open court and creative with the ball.

Pros
Simmons has excellent height for the PG position to go along with high level athleticism. His overall quickness profile is impressive thanks to his great lateral agility and top end speed. He has all the tools to be a big time player at the next level.

He excels in the open court and is great at finding teammates on the fast break. He pushes the ball well, especially off a defensive rebound and he puts immediate pressure on the defense with his ability to get up the court and make plays.

He’s developed a mid range game which is nearly impossible to defend. He can break defenders down with the dribble and pull up for a jumper before they have time to react. It seems like a shot that he can get anytime he wants.

Simmons can also get to the rim and he is an explosive athlete who can finish with authority. He does a nice job of finishing through contact, despite his thin frame.

Cons
Doesn’t have ideal form on his jumper and lacks consistency from outside.

Needs to become a more efficient player on the offensive end, hitting a higher percentage from the field and cutting down on turnovers.

Needs to add strength.

Comparisons
Reminds of Larry Hughes with his height, thin frame and superb athleticism.
