Draft Notes

Simpson has taken his scoring, shooting and efficiency to a new level and is putting himself in the NBA draft conversation, despite not having ideal size or great athleticism.

He’s a big time shot maker who scores efficiently from 3 levels. Moves well off the ball and can find his spots or shake free for jumpers or drives into the lane. A solid finisher with touch around the basket and on floaters.

Is a good passer who doesn’t stall the ball and plays an unselfish game. Doesn’t have an elite first step or penetrating ability and so isn’t always able to draw defenders and set up his teammates.

At about 6-2, 190 he’s a bit undersized for the NBA game and will have to continue to shoot the lights out to have a chance to make it. Will be targeted on the defensive end at the next level.
