Draft Notes
Maluach is an incredibly impressive athlete for a young 7-footer. He’s quick, agile and mobile and changes ends well. He plays above the rim with ease and is a major factor in the paint on both ends of the floor.
His offensive game is still raw but he shows nice flashes. He’s a great finisher around the rim and dunks everything that he can. Is a really good lob threat and is also a good screener.
He can step out and hit the 3-ball but is far from a knockdowns shooter at this point. He’s got good form and shows plenty of promise as a floor spacer. Is a very good FT shooter.
He alters a ton of shots on defense and has an impact that doesn’t always show up in the stat sheet. He’s got a solid build and can hold his own in the lane but will also benefit from adding more strength to his frame. He also shows an impressive ability to move his feet and stay in front of guards when forced to switch. He’s probably going to be mostly a drop defender but he won’t get cooked when forced to switch.
He’s an upside player who will probably take a few years to find his footing in the NBA but could pay dividends down the road.
