Kevon Looney NBA Draft Scouting Report

6-9 – Combo Forward – UCLA

A unique combo forward with nice perimeter skills in a 6-9 body. Is raw with a ton of natural ability. Just scratching the surface of his potential.

Pros
Can be a match up nightmare with his combination of size, quickness and perimeter skills. Handles the ball well and knocks down jump shots with good range.  Shows good court vision and is a heady, intelligent player and excellent passer. A point forward with a versatile game.

Gets above the rim with ease and has enough length and leaping ability to go over defenders for the throw-down. Is also an outstanding shot blocker who rarely fouls and has great timing.

Has a very smooth stroke with a quick release and range out to three.  Projects as a high level scorer in the League.

Cons
Could be a tweener at the NBA level and will have to continue to develop his ball handling and three point shooting. Can be a bit too careless with the ball.

Despite being an excellent shooter, he struggles from the free throw line, hitting only 62% his freshman season.

Needs to add strength and good weight.
