Josh Hart NBA Draft Scouting Report

6-5 – SG -Villanova

A rock solid veteran shooting guard who contributes in all aspects of the game and can really score the ball.

Pros
A very efficient player on the offensive end, who shoots over 50% from the field and has become a knockdown three point shooter.

Has a smooth compact form on his jumper with good touch. Can score from all three levels and really knows how to put the ball in the basket. Moves well without the basketball and does a nice job of cutting to the basket and loosing the defender.

Is a much improved passer/distributor and shows some flashes of point guard ability. Really knows the game and makes the smart basketball play. Is unselfish and operates within the flow of the game.

A solid one on one defender who makes up for lack of elite speed with good positioning and court awareness.

Cons
Is an average athlete by NBA standards and doesn’t blow you away with speed or leaping ability. Plays below the rim and will have to adjust his game against NBA size.

Might not have the foot speed to stay in front of NBA 2-guards.

Projects as a role player at the next level.

Comparisons
Reminds of Marcus Thornton with some Wesley Mathews mixed in as well.

Projection: late first or early second round pick in the 2017 NBA Draft
