NBA Draft Prospect Jeremy Lamb
6,5 – Shooting Guard – Connecticut
Lamb came on strong in the second half of his freshman season at UConn and helped lead the team to a national championship. He continued his strong play during the summer for the USA U19. His sophomore season has been somewhat up and down and Lamb has not blossomed the way many of us expected. Still he’s a high level prospect who should be a lottery pick.
Pros
A very long and quick 2 guard who can really score the basketball. Has very long arms and good jumping ability. Great mid-range game and can get into the lane and finish with floaters or take it to the rim. Good three point shooter and will continue to improve his constancy from outside. Rebounds the ball well, using his length and leaping ability and gets into good position.
Very active hands on defense and moves his feet well. Has a quiet but intense demeanor on the court and great focus.
Cons
Needs to learn to demand the ball and be a more assertive offensive player. Very thin and can get pushed around in the post. Will have to add a lot of strength to guard NBA 2’s in the post. Needs some work on his ball-handling.
Projection: Top ten pick in the 2012 NBA Draft
