NBA Draft Prospect Jeffery Taylor
6,7 – Small Forward – Vanderbilt
Highly athletic wing player with ideal size for an NBA small forward. Senior with a lot of game experience.
Pros
One of the best perimeter defenders in college ball, Taylor should be a lock down defender at the next level. Has quick hands and feet with good lateral quickness and straight line speed. Very long arms and good overall length.
Very good leaper who can play above the rim. Finishes strong in the lane and is a real high flyer. Runs the court very well and is a very good finisher on the fast break. Has worked hard to become a dangerous outside shooter and hit over 42% from three point land in his senior year. Seems to have a lot more upside.
Cons
Took a big step back as a free throw shooter this year, hitting only 60% from the line. Is an inconsistent player who looks like a star one game, then disappears the next. Has a poor assist/turnover ratio and needs to do a better job protecting the ball.
Projection: late first to early second round pick in the 2012 NBA Draft
