The most NBA ready player in the draft, Parker is not only a safer pick but has Hall of Fame level upside. Chances are he’ll be an All Star for a decade. With the injury to Embiid he’ back in the conversation for #1 overall.
Pros
Jabari Parker can do a little bit of everything on the basketball court and has a very high skill level on offense. He handles the ball well and can play point forward. Has excellent form on his jumper with a high release point. Is a really consistent outside shooter for a young player. Very good slasher and has great power for a small forward/wing.
A very willing passer with a nice feel for the game and good court vision. Is more than a capable defender with his long arms and quick feet. Has great overall length which allows him to block shots, rebound the ball well. Underrated defensively.
Very fluid athlete who looks like a natural with the ball in his hands. Has a good crossover dribble and shake and bake moves on the perimeter. Is scary when he gets a head of steam on the fast break.
Cons
Not a true “hang time” or above the rim player and doesn’t have elite quickness or explosiveness. Is not fluid on his back peddle and might struggle against quicker NBA forwards.
Needs to get in (and stay in) top shape. Has heavy legs and will become more of a below the rim player over the years.
Projection: Top 3 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft
