Isaiah Briscoe NBA Draft Scouting Report

6-3 – PG/CG – Kentucky

A strong combo guard who plays a tough and physical game and excels on the defensive end.

Pros
Well built and powerful player who can force his way to the rim and hold his own against taller players. He does a lot of his scoring in the paint and is good at getting to the free throw line. He scores well from mid range and shows good shot selection, knowing his limits.

Although he’s not a run/jump athlete he plays with good quickness and plays with great passion, intensity and consistency. He is both strong and has good lateral quickness, which allows him to guard multiple positions and play in the paint, despite his 6-3 size.

He shows natural leadership abilities and is a warrior on the court who teammates love to play with.

Cons
Isn’t a great shooter and will have to improve from downtown to excel at the next level. Has a slow release and doesn’t shoot it with a lot of confidence. Shoots it in the low 30’s from three point land and is a subpar free throw shooter at below 70%.

Briscoe is definitely a below the rim player who can’t really do much above the rim. And he has less than ideal length.

Projection: Late first or second round pick in the 2017 NBA Draft
