Hollis Thompson Scouting Report

NBA Draft Prospect Hollis Thompson

6,7 – Small Forward – Georgetown

Surprised many by declaring for the draft after his Junior year. Likely second rounder.

Pros

Deadly three point shooter who can really fill it up from beyond the arc. Has great length for a wing player at 6,7 with long arms. Shoots the ball with excellent form and a high release point. Might not be a great overall athlete but can play above the rim due to his good leaping ability and excellent length. Improving his dribble-drive game and starting to draw more fouls.

Finds teammates well and is a willing passer. Has a good feel for the game and understands how to get his shots within the flow of the offense.

Cons

Too skinny and needs to add muscle in a hurry. Not the most explosive player and will be overmatched against some NBA small forwards. Sometimes disappears on the court and needs to play with better consistency and more passion. Not much of a defender and doesn’t have great foot speed or lateral quickness. Not a very good free throw shooter.

Projection: mid second round pick in the 2012 NBA Draft
