Drake Powell is an upside athlete with awesome leaping ability, agility and length. He’s far from a finished product and will take some time to develop but has a bright basketball future ahead of him.

Powell is an exceptional defender who really gets down in his stance and can lock down ball handlers and perimeter players.

On the offensive end he’s at his best slashing to the basket, cutting off the ball and finishing in transition. His jumper is still a work in progress but he has time to put in the work and improve in this area. He gets really good elevation on his jumper and has as solid release and I think it’s only a matter of time before he’s a pretty good, maybe league-average shooter.

He’s a high energy player who gives great effort on both ends. His hard work and effort could get him on a NBA floor, even if the offense is slow to catch up.
