Dragan Bender NBA Draft Scouting Report

Dragan Bender – 7-0 – Power Forward

A very mobile and athletic 7-footer who combines great size with a developing perimeter game.

Pros
Has a very high skill level for a young 7-footer and is capable of playing on the perimeter, on both ends of the floor. Has exceptional ball-handling ability for his size/age and is a very smooth passer with good court vision.

Has quick feet, good lateral movement and overall coordination. Is really fluid in the open court and changes ends effortlessly. Can guard the three point line, using his length and quick feet, and is an above average rim protector as well.

Has an array of post moves including a quick drop step, and the ability to face up from mid range. Has the length and touch to finish around the hoop.

Can hit the three point shot and is quickly improving as an outside shooter. At his length he’s a match-up nightmare on the outside and he projects as a legit three point threat at the next level.

Cons
Thin and light, and will have to add strength. Tends to float around the perimeter.

Needs to commit to developing post moves and not fall in love with the outside shot. Doesn’t have a great left hand…yet.

Is way to foul prone at this stage. Needs to develop his lower body strength to guard in the post and become a more disciplined defender.

Lacks experience and could take some time to develop. Don’t expect an instant impact like Porzingis.

Comparisons
Reminds of Pau Gasol with a little Porzingis mixed in.
