Draft Notes

Dawson has withdrawn his name from the 2021 NBA draft and announced his transfer to North Carolina.

Dawson is an ultra-talented big man who can stretch the floor, get his shot from the mid range and make plays off the dribble. He’s a heady player who really knows how to play the game and has an advanced skill level.

At 6-11 he’s got nice size for the power forward position and enough athleticism – although he could struggle to guard in space at the next level. He’s also a bit light in the lower body and doesn’t project as a great interior defender.

Dawson has good handles and a quick first step for a player his size and he shows some jumbo wing skills. He can handle in the open court and pull up from deep, often looking more like a guard than a big.
