NBA Draft Prospect Damian Lillard
6,2 – Point Guard – Weber State
High scoring point guard who is rising up draft boards after a terrific Junior season
Pros
Athletic point guard who can really fill it up. Scores in a variety of ways, draining threes, taking it to the rim and drawing fouls. Shoots the ball very well from the field, from the three point line and from the foul line. Very efficient player who scores nearly 25 points a game on about 15 shot attempts per game. Very good rebounder who uses his athleticism and understanding of the game to out position and out jump opponents. Has very good size, speed and strength to be an NBA point guard.
Pretty good set up man who was asked to score a lot at Weber State. Still, he averaged 4 assists per game with nearly a 2 to 1 assist to turnover ratio. Shot over 40% from three point land as a Junior and has shown consistent improvement on his jumper. Has a quick release on his jumper and can also improvise and score on runners and floaters in the lane.
Cons
After facing small conference competition it will be a big jump to the NBA. Will need to become more of a pass first player at the next level.
Projection: Late lottery to mid first round pick in the 2012 NBA Draft
