Christian Wood NBA Draft Scouting Report

6-11 – Power Forward – UNLV

A long, athletic power forward who has developed a nice touch from outside. Must add a lot of strength/weight but is a good shot blocker and improving overall defender.

Pros
Wood can really shoot the ball and has a quick and high release on his shot, making it very difficult to block. Has improved his accuracy from outside and seems to have a lot more room for improvement ahead of him. Has a soft touch around the rim.

Has very good length, good hops and excellent timing as a shot blocker. Plays above the rim with ease and puts in good effort on both the defensive and offensive glass.

Woods is a player who is just scratching the surface of his potential and has a lot of upside ahead of him. Has all of the physical tools to excel at the next level.

Cons
Has taken a step back as a free throw shooter and must improve his accuracy and consistency.

At about 220lbs he can get pushed around in the paint and will have to add a lot of strength to compete at the next level.
