6-2 – Point Guard – Murray State
Payne is flying up draft boards after a great sophomore year. He’s a highly skilled PG who can do it all on the basketball court.
Pros
Very solid in all aspects of the game. Can run the offense, set-up teammates and score the ball. A very good (not yet great) outside shooter, hitting 37% from three point land. Also hits a good percentage from the field and from the free throw line.
Has NBA size, at 6-2 with long arms. Possesses good quickness and suddenness with the ball.
Fills up the stat sheet with assists, steals, blocks and rebounds.
Cons
Needs to add a lot of strength.
Lacking big time experience and could take some time to develop.
Projection: mid to late first round pick in the 2015 NBA Draft
