Asa Montgomery

NBA DRAFT SCOUTING REPORT

POSITION: SFFROM: Powder Springs, GAYear: C27
HT: 6-7WT: 185WING: 6-10

Draft Notes

Montgomery is a long, springy and versatile forward who impacts the game on both ends of the floor. He’s an explosive two-foot leaper who runs the court well, finishes above the rim and does an excellent job of finding openings as a cutter.

His motor, rebounding ability and willingness to do the dirty work give him a high floor.

On offense, Montgomery can overpower smaller wings, attack closeouts and make plays in transition. He has shown encouraging shooting touch and some ability to create…but his handle and half-court shot creation are still developing.

Defensively, his reported 6-10 wingspan, quickness and timing allow him to guard multiple positions, disrupt passing lanes and provide some secondary rim protection. If the perimeter shot becomes consistent and his ball skills continue to improve, Montgomery has the tools to develop into a valuable two-way NBA wing.

He’s been one of the biggest risers in his class and is emerging as a true 5-star prospect.
