BORN: 9/30/96 | YEAR: NA | WING: 6-6 | REACH: NA |
Draft Notes
A veteran point guard who has become the heart and soul of the UCLA team. Holiday has brought his
game to a new level this year and is making a case for the first round. He’s tough to keep out of the lane, can hit the 3 and plays like an NBA level point guard.
Strengths
- Speed
- Has a strong and compact frame with quick twitch and lots of open court speed
- Has good length for size which, combined with his strength, allow him to play bigger than his listed height
- Plays a downhill style and pushes the ball well
- A winner – brings it every night and leaves it all on the floor
- A very efficient shooter, hitting nearly 50% from the floor, over 40% from 3 and over 80% from the line
- Makes plays with the game on the line and hits gutsy shots
Weaknesses
- Has average size for position and isn’t the most explosive leaper
- Needs to develop his point guard skills, including when to back it out and set up the offense
- Can be turnover prone and doesn’t have a great assist to turnover ratio for a PG
Comparisons
- Tyronn Lue
- Poor man’s Mike Conley
- His ceiling is Kyle Lowry
