2013 NBA Draft Preview

There’s a lot of hype about how strong the 2012 NBA draft is shaping up to be but 2013 could be just as strong of a class.  The recent addition of Nerlens Noel, who reclassified to the H.S. class of 2012, makes this a much stronger group of prospects.  The top 10-12 prospects look like potential All Stars and the top 4-5 have superstar potential.

Nerlens Noel is an elite shot blocker who reminds me of a young Alonzo Morning. He has incredible timing on the defense end and the length and quickness to be a menace on D.
Shabazz Muhammad is a five star prospect with all the tools to be an elite wing player in the NBA. His game is a mix of Kobe and Brandon Roy and he can do a little bit of everything on the court (and do it well).
Isaiah Austin may take some time to develop but he has the physical tools and the type of upside that are hard to find. He’ll need to add a lot of weight and strength and might have to wait until 2014 but when he puts it all together, look out!  At 7 feet tall with nice mobility and skill level, he could develop into a better version of Tyson Chandler.
It’s a long way off but the 2013 NBA draft is already shaping up to be a good one.
